Farming & resilience
Helping small and marginal farmers explore improved practices, reduce input dependence and access the support they are entitled to.
With Azim Premji Foundation
The natural farming project supports small and marginal farmers, primarily from ST and SC communities, in Govindaraopet mandal.
Its focus is to reduce cultivation costs through improved farming practices while helping eligible families access welfare entitlements.
The five project villages are Rangapuram, Sandragudem, Balajinagar, Karlapalli and Lakshmipuram.
The foundation laid in 2025–26
Awareness
Village programmes in January and February 2026 introduced natural farming, reduced chemical input use, soil health and low-cost cultivation.
Baseline
Survey work covered crops, current practices, cultivation costs, landholdings, forest rights titles and access to schemes.
Entitlements
Farmers were informed about agriculture and welfare schemes and encouraged to apply for relevant support.
Looking ahead
Trainings and demonstration plots are priorities for 2026–27.
These are planned next steps. The 2025–26 report documents awareness and baseline activities; it does not yet claim measured reductions in cultivation costs or increases in income.
