Community-led change / Telangana, India
When communities
thrive, forests
have a future.
We work alongside tribal and forest-dependent communities to strengthen livelihoods, nurture local leadership and care for the resources that sustain us.
A year of shared progress · 2025–26
Our story
A forest is more
than trees.
It is a way of life.
For the communities we work with, forests, land and livelihoods are deeply connected. Our work begins with that relationship.
Founded in 2002, Vanasamakhya is a collective network of Village Forest Committees. We support participatory forest governance and equitable development, with tribal communities, women and marginalised groups at the centre.
